Coded Bias is an excellent Digital Society documentary. At the time of writing, it is available on Netflix in most countries.
“When MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini discovers that facial recognition does not see dark-skinned faces accurately, she embarks on a journey to push for the first-ever U.S. legislation against bias in algorithms that impact us all.” 1
Whilst the documentary is itself biased and mostly focuses on the negatives of facial recognition technologies, it does offer the viewpoint of a Chinese citizen who views the social credit system as a positive.
“Coded Bias exposes prejudices and threats to civil liberty in facial recognition algorithms and artificial intelligence.” 2
